Oxford United Football Club
Oxford United FC is a professional football club founded in 1893. They currently compete in League One of the English Football League.
With AMiTEK already providing IT support to the football club after taking over from the previous provider, Oxford United FC came to us as part of a project for relocating to a new training ground facility.
The requirement was to design and build a new on-premise/cloud hybrid network to incorporate Microsoft 365 services for Exchange, SharePoint and Teams with a more traditional on-premise Active Directory and file services solution.
A campus-wide wireless network was part of the requirement to provide access to the admin network while also offering a Guest WIFI solution for the youth teams and guests attending the facilities.
Once building works at the new training ground were complete our first task was to install firewall and network switch equipment ready to support new WiFi access points and server hardware.
VLANs were configured to segregate Admin, Guest and VOIP networks with Ubiquity UNIFY wireless access points being installed throughout the various buildings and training ground areas.
New server hardware was installed, with Microsoft Hyper-V used as the host platform. Virtual servers were then deployed to support an internal Active Directory, File & Print services and an SSTP client VPN service for remote workers.
Microsoft Azure Active Directory Connect was installed in the new environment and configured to synchronise with the existing Oxford United FC Microsoft 365 tenant and services.
AMiTEK continues to provide IT support to Oxford United FC with a full IT support services contract, and we are now working with them on planning a network migration at their Kassam Stadium to bring it online with the new training ground network.
